Campaign Update

·

Two weeks ago, I went to Washington, D.C. with one goal: to find real solutions to the affordability crisis facing families here in Virginia’s Second District.

Because let’s be honest. People in Hampton Roads aren’t struggling because they’re doing something wrong. They’re struggling because the system isn’t working for them.

I’ve heard it everywhere from Virginia Beach to Southampton County: groceries cost more, rent keeps rising, gas isn’t getting cheaper, and paychecks aren’t keeping up.

That’s not sustainable. And it’s not acceptable.

And on this May Day, it’s a reminder of exactly what’s at stake: whether our economy works for working people—or just for billionaires and corporations.

So I brought our district’s concerns directly to the table in D.C.—meeting with leaders, policy experts, and advocates pushing for solutions that actually lower costs:

✔️ An economy that rewards working families—not just the wealthy

✔️ Housing that working families can actually afford

✔️ Lower healthcare and prescription drug costs

✔️ Relief on utility bills and gas prices

We don’t need more talking points. We need action.

I’m running for Congress because I’ve spent my career at the intersection of policy and people—as a doctor and a lawyer—and I know we can build solutions that actually improve lives.

This campaign is about choosing workers over billionaires and corporations. And I won’t stop fighting until we do.
